Christmas is just a few weeks away, and we are normally the family that puts our tree tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year, we are a little behind so I thought it would be fun to take a stroll down Christmas tree memory lane.
In 2009 we traveled out of state and since we were leaving on Christmas day, we decided not to get a tree. We improvised and decorated our dancing Santa instead. The kids didn’t seem to mind, but it just wasn’t the same for the adults! Just for fun, let’s call this one our “Tree Substitute”- 2009.
IN 2010, we again left for vacation on Christmas day, so decided to use the artificial 4 ft. tree that normally goes in my son’s bedroom. We called this our “Little Christmas Tree That Could”.
In 2011, we celebrated our first Christmas with our new fur-family members, so we called this one the “Cat Tree”
The whole enchilada- 2012 We stayed home in 2012, and went all-out with the u-cut Christmas tree, ceiling bulbs, perimeter trim lighting, dancing Santa, Elf on the Shelf, extensive Snowman collection, and much more!
We do not live in a big house by any stretch of the imagination, so at Christmas time we like to transform it to a wonderland of decorations to share the holiday spirit. Do you have any special Christmas tree or decoration traditions with your family? Feel free to share them in the comments!
